Customize how and when Workestra notifies you about activity in your workspace.

Email Digest Settings

Email digests summarize workspace activity and are sent to your registered email address.

Digest Frequency

Choose how often you receive email summaries:

Setting Your Frequency

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications
  2. Find Email Digest Frequency
  3. Select your preferred option
  4. Changes apply immediately

Even with digests disabled, you'll still receive critical security emails (password changes, new device logins) and direct mentions.

Push Notification Toggles

Control which events trigger browser push notifications.

Enabling Browser Notifications

For push notifications to work:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Toggle on desired notification types
  3. Your browser will request permission — click Allow
  4. Ensure notifications aren't blocked in your browser settings

On macOS, you may also need to enable notifications for your browser in System Settings > Notifications.

Smart Notification Preferences

Workestra's AI can prioritize notifications based on importance.

Smart Prioritization

When enabled, Workestra:

  • Batches low-priority notifications
  • Highlights urgent items
  • Learns from your interaction patterns
  • Reduces notification fatigue

Configuring Smart Mode

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Toggle Smart Notification Prioritization
  3. Adjust sensitivity:
    • High — Only most important notifications
    • Medium — Balanced filtering
    • Low — Minimal filtering

Notification Delivery

In-App Notifications

All notifications appear in your Inbox:

  • Red badge shows unread count
  • Real-time updates via WebSocket
  • Click to navigate to the relevant record

Email Notifications

Sent based on your digest frequency and event importance:

Mobile Push

If you use Workestra on mobile:

  • Notifications mirror your push settings
  • Tap to open the relevant page
  • Swipe to dismiss or act

Do Not Disturb

Temporarily pause non-urgent notifications:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Enable Do Not Disturb
  3. Set duration:
    • 1 hour
    • Until tomorrow
    • Until turned off

Do Not Disturb doesn't block security alerts or direct mentions. Only lower-priority notifications are paused.

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Email Notifications

  1. Check spam/junk folders
  2. Verify your email address is correct in Profile settings
  3. Ensure digest frequency isn't set to "Never"
  4. Add notifications@workestra.app to your contacts

Not Receiving Push Notifications

  1. Check browser notification permissions
  2. Ensure push toggles are enabled in settings
  3. Try disabling and re-enabling browser notifications
  4. Check if Do Not Disturb is active

Too Many Notifications

  1. Reduce digest frequency
  2. Disable less important push toggles
  3. Enable Smart Notification Prioritization
  4. Unwatch items you don't need updates on
