Workestra's AI Assistant helps you interact with your workspace data using natural language. Ask questions, get insights, and take action without navigating complex interfaces.
Opening the AI Assistant
Keyboard Shortcut
Press Cmd+/ (Mac) or Ctrl+/ (Windows/Linux) to open the AI panel from anywhere.
Click to Open
Click the sparkles icon (✨) in the header to toggle the AI panel.
Context-Aware Opening
The AI Assistant understands where you are:
- From a contact page → "Tell me about this contact"
- From a deal → "What's the next step for this deal?"
- From dashboard → "Show me my open tasks"
What You Can Ask
The AI Assistant supports natural language queries about your data:
Search Records
Find information across your workspace:

Create Records

When creating records, the AI proposes the data for your confirmation. Review before saving to ensure accuracy.
Update Records

Entity Context
The AI understands which page you're on:
- On a contact: "Schedule a follow-up" creates an activity for that contact
- On a deal: "What's the status?" summarizes the deal pipeline
- On a project: "Show incomplete tasks" filters to that project
Write Confirmations
For actions that modify data, the AI shows a confirmation:
How It Works
- You request an action: "Create a deal for Acme Corp worth $50,000"
- AI proposes:
Create Deal: - Title: Acme Corp Deal - Value: $50,000 - Company: Acme Corp - You review and click Confirm or Cancel
Always review AI proposals before confirming. The AI is helpful but not perfect — you are responsible for data accuracy.
Citation Pills
When the AI references specific records, it includes clickable citations:
- Blue pills link to actual records
- Click to navigate to the full record
- Hover to see a preview

Conversation History
The AI Assistant remembers context within a session:
- Previous questions inform follow-ups
- "What about last month?" references your last query
- Context resets when you close the panel
Viewing History
Scroll up in the AI panel to see previous exchanges. Click any message to reference it.
Clearing History
Click the ... menu in the AI panel header and select Clear Conversation to start fresh.

Be Specific

Reference what the AI already knows:

Verify Important Data
For critical decisions:
- Ask the AI to find the record
- Click the citation to view full details
- Confirm before acting on the information
Limitations
What the AI Cannot Do
- Access data outside your workspace
- Delete records (for safety)
- Access the internet or external APIs
- Process images or attachments
- Make decisions on your behalf
Accuracy
- The AI strives for accuracy but may occasionally misunderstand
- Always verify important information
- Report persistent errors to support
Privacy & Data
How Your Data Is Used
- Queries are processed to generate responses
- Data is not used to train AI models
- No data is shared with third parties
- API calls are encrypted in transit
Sensitive Information
Avoid sharing in the AI Assistant:
- Passwords or credentials
- Credit card numbers
- Personal information of non-users
- Confidential data you wouldn't share with team members
