Recurring Invoices

Set up automatic recurring billing, payment reminders, and financial forecasts.

Automate your billing with recurring invoices that generate on a schedule, payment reminders for outstanding amounts, and revenue forecasts based on your recurring billing.

Creating a Recurring Invoice

  1. Navigate to Finance → Recurring (/finance/recurring)
  2. Click New Recurring Invoice
  3. Configure:
FieldDescription
ClientCustomer to bill
Line ItemsProducts/services and pricing
FrequencyWeekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly
Next DateWhen the next invoice should be generated
End DateOptional — stop generating after this date
CurrencyInvoice currency
NotesDefault notes for generated invoices
  1. Save the recurring invoice

How It Works

On the scheduled date:

  1. A new invoice is automatically created from the recurring template
  2. The invoice is created as a Draft for review
  3. You can review, modify, and send each generated invoice
  4. The next date advances to the next occurrence based on frequency

Frequency Options

FrequencySchedule
WeeklyEvery 7 days
MonthlySame day each month
QuarterlyEvery 3 months
YearlyOnce per year

Managing Recurring Invoices

Pause or Cancel

  • Pause — Temporarily stop generating invoices without deleting the template
  • Cancel — Permanently stop the recurring schedule

Edit

Modify line items, amounts, or schedule at any time. Changes apply to future invoices only — already-generated invoices are not affected.

Payment Reminders

The Finance module includes automated payment reminders for outstanding invoices:

  • Configurable reminder schedules (before due, on due, overdue)
  • Email notifications sent to clients automatically
  • Visible on the Finance dashboard as Action Required alerts
  • Configure reminder timing in Finance → Settings → Advanced

Financial Forecast

The recurring invoices page includes a Financial Forecast section that projects:

  • Revenue forecast — Expected income from recurring invoices over the next 12 months
  • Cash flow projection — When payments are expected based on payment terms
  • MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) — Current and projected monthly revenue

The forecast updates automatically as you add, modify, or cancel recurring invoices.
