Goals Settings
Configure check-in cadence, visibility rules, at-risk thresholds, and cycle defaults.
Go to Goals > Settings to configure how check-ins work, who can see what, and how at-risk classification is applied.
Check-in Cadence
Choose how frequently check-in prompts are sent to objective owners:
- Weekly — Prompt sent every week on the configured day and time
- Bi-weekly — Prompt sent every two weeks
Set the day of the week and time of day for prompts. Prompts appear in the user's Workestra Inbox and as an email notification (if the weekly digest is enabled).
Default Cycle
Choose which cycle new objectives default to when created without an explicit cycle selection. Typically set to the current Active cycle.
At-Risk Rules
Configure automatic confidence classification so managers can spot struggling goals before it's too late.
Default rule: Progress below 50% with 70% of the cycle elapsed → automatically mark the KR as At Risk.
Customize the thresholds:
- Progress threshold — The progress % that triggers the rule (default: 50%)
- Cycle elapsed threshold — How far through the cycle must have passed for the rule to apply (default: 70%)
Automatic At Risk marking can be overridden by the KR owner at any check-in by manually setting the confidence to On Track with a comment explaining why.
Visibility
Control who can see goals at each level:
| Level | Default Visibility |
|---|---|
| Company objectives | Visible to all workspace users |
| Team objectives | Visible to team members |
| Individual objectives | Visible to the owner and their direct manager |
Restrict company objectives to the management role if you prefer to control timing before a company-wide release.
Visibility settings apply to the Goals > All Goals view. Managers always see their direct reports' individual goals regardless of visibility settings — this cannot be restricted.
AI Synthesis
Configure which modules feed into the weekly AI progress narrative:
- CRM — Deals closed, pipeline movement
- Projects — Tasks completed, milestones reached
- Support — Tickets resolved, CSAT scores
- Time — Billable hours logged
Disable any module source if you don't want it included in the narrative. You can also disable AI synthesis entirely — check-ins and manual progress updates still work normally.
Weekly Digest Email
Enable or disable the weekly OKR digest email sent to objective owners.
Configure:
- Send day — Which day of the week the digest goes out
- Send time — Time of day (in the user's timezone)
The digest includes: current progress on each objective, confidence status of all KRs, the AI-generated weekly narrative, and a link to submit check-ins.
