Contracts Settings
Configure contract stages, renewal alert thresholds, e-signature settings, and analytics.
Contracts Settings are accessible to workspace admins and users with the Contracts Admin role.
Contract Stages
Customize the stages that contracts move through:
- Add, rename, or reorder stages to match your workflow
- Configure automation triggers — choose which stages can fire Automations
- Mark terminal stages — Expired and Terminated stages allow no further transitions without an admin override
Renewal Alerts
Set when alerts fire before a contract expires:
- Default thresholds: 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry
- Recipients per alert: contract owner, CRM account owner, specific users, or role-based (Finance, Legal)
- Delivery channels: in-app notification and email
You can set different recipients for each threshold — for example, notify only the contract owner at 90 days, then escalate to Finance at 30 days.
E-signature Settings

Contract Numbering
Configure how contract reference numbers are generated:
- Prefix — e.g.,
CTR - Starting number — e.g.,
1 - Padding format — e.g.,
CTR-0001
Numbers are assigned automatically when a contract is created.
Custom Fields
Add custom fields to contract records per contract type. Supports the same 12 field types as CRM:
- Text, number, date, select, multi-select, checkbox
- URL, email, phone, currency, long text, rating
Custom fields can be marked required and organized into sections per contract type.
Analytics
The Renewals dashboard includes contract analytics:
- Contract value by type and status
- Upcoming renewals in the next 90 days
- Average time-to-signature across all contracts
- Contracts by owner — workload distribution
Analytics are available to any user with access to the Renewals page.
