Gmail Add-on

Click-to-book Workestra meetings from inside Gmail compose windows.

The Workestra Gmail Add-on adds a sidebar panel to Gmail compose windows. Users pick a booking link, offered slots, or a team page, and the add-on inserts a Workestra snippet into the message body.

  • Insert team page link - drop a team page URL
  • Open Workestra calendar - open /calendar

Installation

For enterprise launch, deploy the add-on through a customer-managed Google Workspace or Apps Script deployment:

  1. Create or open the Apps Script project for the Workestra Gmail add-on.
  2. Copy the source from apps/gmail-addon/.
  3. Configure the script properties required by your Workestra environment.
  4. Deploy a test deployment for validation or an internal Workspace deployment for assigned users.
  5. Install the add-on for the pilot or organization from the Apps Script or Google Admin deployment flow.

The package source lives in apps/gmail-addon/ of the Workestra monorepo. The package README documents the clasp-based deployment workflow.

Authentication

The Gmail add-on signs users into their Workestra account and uses the same account permissions as the web app.

Not supported

  • Native desktop mail clients that do not run Gmail add-ons
  • A public Google Workspace Marketplace listing before marketplace approval
  • Calendar-level read/write from the Gmail add-on; use Google Calendar for calendar sync
